Road Re-surfacing Campaign - Coxeter, Kersey and DeMontfort now re-surfaced - March 2012

  • Coxeter Road - Programmed for Highway Improvement 2011/12 - Re-surfaced March 2012
  • Brummell Road - Re-surfaced summer 2011
  • Lewendon Road - Re-surfaced summer 2011
  • De-Montfort Road - has been added to the Programme for 2011/12 - Re-surfaced - March 2012
  • Kersey Crescent (Section between Lewendon Road & Coxeter Road)- Re-surfaced March 2012
  • Burchell Road does not form part of the Programme - This road will be re-assessed on receipt of 2011/12 data
We do realise that this is very disappointing news for residents of Burchell Road and would urge everyone to report any accidents or further pot holes immediately to West Berkshire Council who do take this information into consideration when assessing which roads are to be included in their programme.

You are probably all well acquainted with the state of our roads but just to make sure that we keep road re-surfacing on everyone's minds, we have submitted the following photographs to the lib-dems website at West Berkshire Council.  If you log on to the website and compare the Speen Estate roads with others in West Berkshire you will probably agree that our roads have earned their place alongside the others in the gallery!  Please click on the attached link to view these photographs at  http://www.flickr.com/photos/westberkslibdems/

And just in case you've forgotten what these roads used to look like, we've saved some reminder photos for you!

From left to right these pictures show the condition of some of the estate roads in Speen -
1. Junction with Burchell Road/Talbot Close
2. Brummell Road approaching the junction with Grove Road
3. Lewendon Road near junction with Kersey
4. Coxeter Road - this picture was taken in the middle of the road but the the whole road is in an equally poor       condition.
