Operation Ranger

From Monday 16th to Friday 20th September members of the Neighbourhood Teams were involved in Operation Ranger as part of Rural Crime week.      The intention of the operation is aimed at increasing the awareness of rural crime and ways to help prevent it by speaking to businesses and farmers.    In addition some of the PCSOs were matched with their Neighbourhood Watch Co-ordinators and spent the day visiting “hot spots” around the area.

·         Giving a talk on fireworks night and Halloween at Steventon Primary School years 3 to 6

·         He will be holding a Have Your Say meeting on Sunday 20th October from 12pm until 1pm outside the Co-op in Steventon.

East Hendred, West Hendred, Ardington and Lockinge

My name is PCSO Sue Harris and I have taken over from Catherine Johnson as your Police Community Support Officer.  Although I am new to your area, I am not new to the world of PCSOs, having previously worked in Wantage Town for 7 years.   I have already met some residents and business owners on my travels, but look forward to meeting more of you.

Thames Valley Alert – This is an alert system whereby you can receive a text, email or landline message regarding any crime or incidents in your area.     See below for details on how you can sign up, which is completely free, or you can collect a form from East Hendred or Ardington shop and either send it back to Abingdon Police Station or leave at the shops for me to collect.

I had a lovely time meeting the children at both St Amand’s School and East Hendred Church of England School.  At St Amand’s the children got to look around a police car, talk to control room on the radio and make lots of noise putting the sirens on!      At the Church of England School I post coded numerous bicycles.  I will be doing this again and the school will advertise dates.

With Halloween approaching I shall leave some “No Trick or Treat” posters with both Ardington and East Hendred shop if you would like one.  If you have any issues or fears on Halloween please do not sit at home worried, phone us on either the non emergency number of 101 or in an emergency 999.

I will be holding a Have Your Say Meeting on Tuesday 12th November from 6pm until 6.30pm in Snells Hall, East Hendred.

Please stop and have a chat with me if you see me in the village.   If you need to contact me ask for PCSO 9825 Sue Harris via the 101 telephone number.  Or you can email me at WantageandGroveNHPT@thamesvalley.pnn.police.uk – please note this email address cannot be used to record crimes or for urgent matters.
