About us

Didcot NAG is a collection of local agencies who meet regularly to discuss issues and concerns of the local community.

Didcot NAG aims to improve the quality and experience of living within the Didcot area.

Didcot NAG is purely a voluntary organisation which has no funding, but meets regularly with the County Council, Didcot Town Council and the Didcot

Community  Police Team to improve the safety of all residents in Didcot.

Statement from our Chairman

We have made a good start to re-establishing NAG in Didcot.

We have much support from the Thames Valley Police LPA Commander Andy Boyd as well as from the Neighbourhood Policing Team headed up by Inspector Mark Harling and the Didcot team led by Sgt Frazer Weller.

Many issues of concern to the public have channels direct to Local Authorities and to the Police, especially incidents that need to be reported right away- for which 999 is always there - and those that may not be emergencies but which cannot wait for another day when 101 would be the number to call.

NAG is there to try to deal with on-going local issues which may need a multiagency approach or would benefit from the involvement of groups who are able and willing to take on projects that help and protect people and make their lives safe and happy.

Not everyone can be invited to NAG meetings so there has to be a route for information about local issues to reach us.

That is why recognised groups such as Neighbourhood Watch are invited to attend so that issues that their members raise can be addressed.

We are trying to contact groups that are not currently represented. This may include those who work with and represent vulnerable people and those who are of minority groups be they social or faith groups who may not have a voice and may need advice or support.

I recognise that there is a long way to go but we are starting the journey.

Trevor House
Chairman.
