Awards for Angela!
Our Chairwoman Angela Money has recently received a couple of awards for the wonderful work she does for this NAG and Newbury and Thatcham Neighbourhood Watch. Before we tell you all about these, we thought you'd enjoy reading a bit about Angela and how she got involved with the South West NAG and NHW in the first place:

"I am involved with Neighbourhood Watch and the Newbury South West Neighbourhood Action Group. I became a Neighbourhood Watch Coordinator in 1995 and covered 58 houses. Very soon after I took on the Area Coordinator's role and have been chairing the Newbury and Thatcham Neighbourhood Watch meetings for 14 years. Four years ago I became the Chair of Newbury South West Neighbourhood Action Group. During the time that I have been involved with Neighbourhood Watch I have set up numerous street schemes, held public meetings and stands at local events, written articles for papers and magazines, given radio interviews and many countless hours have been spent helping the local community. I am totally dedicated to Neighbourhood Watch, and it has always been my aim to make the area a safer place to live and work by giving crime prevention advice and trying to prevent residents becoming victims of crime".

As you may have read in one of the local papers, Angela Money recently received a 'Highly Commended' Award from Newbury Town Council in recognition of the voluntary Neighbourhood Watch and Neighbourhood Action Group work that she does. She also received a certificate of appreciation of outstanding service to Neighbourhood Watch from the Thames Valley Neighbourhood Watch Association. This was presented to Angela by the Assistant Chief Constable Richard Bennett of Thames Valley Police.
The photos show firstly, Angela being presented with her
award from Assistant Chief Constable Richard Bennett of Thames Valley Police and secondly, receiving the Newbury Town Council award by the Mayor Jeff Beck. Well done Angela!
